Shel: Today is basically a travel day, got in 420 miles. Crossing the Rockies, you have to go through two passes, Vail @ 10,603' and Loveland @ 11,158'. We got over each pass at about 40 MPH. The transmission never went over 217F, I think it needs a better cooler, maybe one with a fan on it. Decided to do a campground in Limon as I remember that eastern Colorado doesn't have anything :) Geni: Drove all day and watched the scenery change as we drove along. The drive over the Rockies was not bad since it was never as steep as the other day when it was basically uphill all the way and around mountain edges. Today the climb, although we reached high elevations, was more moderate and on better highways. |

Lots of roadwork on our travels - painting lines - not too bad a delay |
Mountains along the way to Rt 70 |
Mountains and Colorado river on the right |
Colorado foliage - Aspen trees |
This was in or near Aspen - lots of condos |
Another foliage shot - not as nice as back home |
Shel thought Skip would like this! |
Finally, civilization in the horizon |
Lots of traffic through Denver and it wasn't even rush hour |
