Sheldon and Geni's 2014 Camping Trip
Today is: September 8
We woke up in: Renton, Wa We're going to sleep in: Olympic National Park

Shel: Had a nice Breakfast with Barb as Jim had to go to work today. Hauled down to Olympic National Park and found a nice camping spot in the Park - What a great deal, $6 per night (Senior Pass). The Geni took me out to dinner for my Birthday, a couple of days early, but a great dinner!!!

Geni: Went to Mt. Olympic today. Kind of gloomy day, but as we drove the three hours to the park, the weather got sunnier, but cool. It's a nice park, similar to glacier national in that the views of the mountains were beautiful and there were icebergs in view. One different place they have here is rainforests. We walked through one at Crescent Lake. The trail was called Moment in Time and we could observe the different kinds of trees, but also the new trees along with older ones that may have been in fires or have fallen down. There were also trees with moss growing all along their bark and branches. Driving up to the top of Hurricane Ridge was scary at times because it was pretty steep and there are not many guardrails.Tonight I took Shel out for his birthday in case we are in the wilderness on his special day. We feasted at a really nice place and I got to have some salmon!

Barb and Sheldon - a reunion of old neighbors -nice to spend time with her and her husband Jim

Camping spot at park - looks like street parking but it,s in a nice wooded area - dropped camper off at 1 and didn't get back until 8PM
