Sheldon and Geni's 2010 Camping Trip
Today is: October 6
We are in: Kingman, AZ.

We heard a couple of train whistles through the night. It seems that Kingman was established because of the train route. We took a loop trip by going east on route 66 to Seligman and then back on route 40. Ran around town for a while - did some shopping and called it an early night.

Geni: We took the scenic Rt. 66 but it didn't seem very scenic to us. Maybe because we have been so many different places. But we did stop at an animal sanctuary and walked around there. Many of the animals were in cages, however, we were assured that they do get lots of time to exercise in the acres of land around their cages. These animals were rescued as they once were pets and then abandoned when they became too difficult. We wanted to go to an Indian Reservation but the roads were closed due to the heavy rain from a couple of days ago. We did go to the Mohave Natural Museum in Kingman and saw displays on the hometown boy, Andy Devine, as well as lots of historical memorabilia and information about mining and the town's history.
