Sheldon and Geni's 2015 Camping Trip
Today is: September 16
We woke up in: Woodridge, NY We're going to sleep in: Woodridge, NY

Shel: Hung around a while in the morning, which was different for us. When in Woodridge, I always visit the cemetary where my parents and brother are buried. Went to Bethel, NY, the site of Woodstock. When asked if I had ever been there before, I said well, yeah - 1969. Toured the Threads exhibit, and then the msuseum and grounds of Bethel Woods which is now a center for the arts. Enjoyed another fine dinner out.

Geni: Finally got to Woodstock! it was interesting to read about all the information the museum gathered about the 60's - politics, fashion, entertainment. There were a few short videos, a longer film, and lots of memoribilia. The Treads Exhibit was a display of clothing some of the rock stars wore. The area is all built up, providing a beautiful center for lots of activities.

The center is very nicely landscaped.

The Threads exhibit had a place for you to dress up as a rock star.

Of course no one was around, so I could ham it up - but just the vest and guitar

Bike was built by Orange County Choppers which is in the next county over/

Amphitheater on the grounds

next picture explains why the venue was moved

psychedelic bus

Theatre set up much like Tanglewood - seats under canopy and then lawn seats too

The front of the museum

pretty much same pic - but shel didn't want to delete it and move other pics up

A monument right near where the original stage was.

In the background, stage was to the left and all the people covered the hillside

There is a peace sign in the grass

He was only at woodstock for a couple of hours, helping out Civil Defense. His cousin worked there for the three days delivering water

Duplicate pic - so, you can envision the mass of people covering all this area.
